Core Attendance Policy
Active participation is an essential part of the Core experience; it is vital to establish trust and group cohesion for a valuable peer group experience. Members and Guides are expected to attend every Core session, and we schedule sessions in advance to support this expectation.
The consistent attendance of all group members throughout the year is crucial to maintaining this enriching experience, where every member's contributions play a pivotal role in collective growth and learning.
Member Attendance Policy
If a member misses a meeting, Chief will reach out to check-in, encourage the member to connect with the group and guide, and get up to speed on the discussion they missed. If they miss three meetings within a year (in the same group), Chief will reach out to the Guide to confirm whether the member should be removed from the group. If the Guide confirms, Chief will remove the member and connect with them regarding next steps.
That being said, we understand the demanding schedules of our members and know that things can come up. If members have an unavoidable conflict and must miss a meeting, they can let us know by visiting the Core Home page and clicking the “I can’t attend” button at least 48 hours in advance. Absences due to personal emergencies, caregiving responsibilities, or instances where we unintentionally schedule over a known conflict will be excused. If Guides see that the majority of the group cannot attend, please complete the Core Meeting Rescheduling / Substitute Request Form so Chief can update the meeting date.
Guide Attendance Policy
Core Guides are expected to be on time to each Core meeting and to be present for their full duration. If no members attend a Core meeting (after waiting for 20 minutes) you may end the call. Guides will need to work with members and Chief to reschedule a no-show meeting. As of January 1, 2025, Guides will not be compensated for a meeting in which no members attended.
Guides must be present for the first meeting (M1) of their assigned Core Group. If a Guide is unable to attend M1, a new Guide will be assigned. If a Guide cannot make 3 or more consecutive meetings, the Guide might be removed from that group.
If a Guide cannot make a scheduled Core meeting, the Guide is responsible for identifying a new date that works for the group, or finding a Guide substitute utilizing the process outlined in the Rescheduling & Substitution Process page. Once you identify a substitute, please use the Core Meeting Rescheduling / Substitute Request Form to alert the team.
