MEETING 4+:
Monthly Core Themes & Peer Advisory
📝 SUMMARY 📝
In order to increase the connection between the Core experience and the larger Chief experience, we’re launching monthly themes designed to provide additional structure and direction for timely Core meeting discussions and peer advisory. These themes are in response to recent member feedback asking for more leadership development takeaways in Core:
"It’s hard to gauge if I’m getting value from my Core Group when the topics feel disconnected from my work."
“Have [a] methodology to guide conversations. Feels more like a 'what's on your mind' approach and unguided.”
The approach to Core is largely staying the same, with the primary focus and structure in meeting 4 and beyond being peer advisory. Through this structure, members can tap into the collective wisdom of the group to address challenges and seize opportunities when they need it most. The Core themes are designed to provide flexible, not rigid, structure and create a Core experience that is more integrated into the larger Chief experience.
Below you will find the monthly theme facilitation guides. We encourage you to use them as is or adapt them to meet the needs of each of your unique groups. If you don’t have a meeting during one of the months, you have some flexibility to choose the meeting content you’d like to facilitate. For example, if you don’t have an April meeting but you have one in May, choose between the April and May themes and deliver one or a mix of the two.

FAQ
-
We understand that transitioning your groups can take some time so we recommend making small incremental changes each meeting. For example, adding 10 more minutes of Peer Advisory each meeting for a few months until Peer Advisory becomes the majority of your Core meeting.
We also understand that members enjoy discussing specific topics relevant to executive women and we encourage you to utilize thought provoking topical discussions rather than a series of slides to present specific materials. We’re not saying that you cannot use slides to aid in discussion, however, we recommend they are used minimally and you unshare your screen before moving into discussion.
